We are going to break out four examples.
We will be working with Single-Level Codes and Multi-Level Codes
Single-Level Codes
State, City, and/or County
Yellow: This is where you will put in your label. We like to keep our codes accurate to the state codes. WA= Washington 0502= Port Angeles
Blue: This is the description for your tax code
Orange: We do not need to check this box, since we will be setting this up for a Multi-Level Tax Code
Pink:
Old: This is if you're updating a rate. Put your old rate in this box.
New: This is where you put in your most current rate.
Green: Put your effective date in this. When does the rate go into effect?
Purple: Credit GL Account, select the specific tax liability account you use. If you're unsure confirm with your Accounting Manager/Controller the GL this needs to go to.
*If applicable enter the JC Tax Phase and JC Cost Type fields if taxes need to be posted to a specific phase code or cost type.
Multi-Level Codes
State, City, and/or County
Yellow: This is where you will put in your label. We like to keep our codes accurate to the state codes. For Multi-Level we combine the codes WA= Washington 0502= Port Angeles
Example: WA-0502
Blue: This is the description for your tax code
Orange: Check this box so we can set up our Multi-Level Codes
Pink: This will connect to your single-level codes that you created
Green: This will connect to your single-level codes that you created
Purple: Credit GL Account, select the specific tax liability account you use. If you're unsure confirm with your Accounting Manager/Controller the GL this needs to go to.

Go into your Single Level Members Tab
Under Linked Tax Code attach all applicable tax codes
