[IM] Adding Additional Import Identifiers

Created by Crystal Millington, Modified on Fri, 26 Dec at 3:28 PM by Crystal Millington

Each field on the Template Detail tab (IM Template) has a unique identifier. Additional identifiers may be needed when importing data that is incompatible with Vista or when multiple fields in the data file need to map to a single system field. These additional identifiers allow cross-referencing of data records.

Adding Additional Identifiers for Cross-References

  1. On the Template Detail tab, enter the Record Type for the field. Press F4 to view available record types.

  2. Enter an Identifier number. Enter N, New, or + to have the system assign the next available number.

    • Note: Additional identifiers must be 1000 or greater to distinguish them from standard system fields.

  3. Complete the remaining fields as needed.

    • Note: Do not enter anything in the Cross Reference field yet.

  4. Create the cross-reference in IM Cross Reference.

  5. Enter the cross-reference name in the Cross Reference column for the importing field and for the additional identifier(s).

When importing, the system uses additional identifiers as placeholders to convert incompatible data formats or to associate multiple imported records with a single Viewpoint field.

Adding a RecordKey Identifier to Import Attached Documents

To import documents along with data records, the template must include a RecordKey identifier:

  1. On the Template Detail tab, enter an Identifier number. Use N, New, or + to let the system assign the next available number.

    • Note: RecordKey identifiers must be 1000 or greater.

  2. In the Description field, enter RecordKey.

  3. Complete the remaining fields as needed.
