The Imports module allows you to bring data from third-party systems into the Vista database.
Steps to Import Data:
Ensure the third-party data file is in a supported format.
If importing documents, include them with header records using a delimited file format.
Select an existing import template or create a new one using IM Template.
For incompatible or converted data, set up a cross-reference using IM Cross Reference.
Apply cross-references and define field mapping in the import template.
If importing attached documents, ensure a Record Key is defined in the template.
Import the data using IM Import.
Review and modify the imported data with IM Work Edit, then upload it using IM Upload.
Direct import: uploads data directly to a database table.
Batch import: uploads to a batch form for validation before posting.
For batch imports, review batches using IM Batch ID and run the applicable batch processing forms.
When finished, purge templates or import IDs as needed using IM Import Purge.
