[SM] Setup SM Labor Codes

Created by Crystal Millington, Modified on Mon, 29 Dec at 8:12 AM by Crystal Millington

Labor codes are used on work orders to identify the type of work performed (such as repair, installation, or maintenance).

Key points:

  • Labor codes can include a default JC Cost Type for job work orders.

  • When used on job work orders, the JC Cost Type automatically defaults and posts costs to Job Cost.

  • When used on customer work orders, the JC Cost Type is ignored.

  • The cost type must exist for the job phase, or the system will not allow the labor entry to be saved (rules differ slightly depending on whether the job is locked).

  1. To set up labor codes:
    1. Open SM Labor Codes.

    2. Enter a Labor Code and Description.

    3. Check Active to enable the code.

    4. (Optional) Enter a JC Cost Type to default on job work orders.

Once set up, labor codes can be selected when entering work completed labor on work orders.
