[PR] State Insurance Codes (L&I Codes)

Info Tab:

PRSIC1. Enter the State

Enter the state where Workers Compensation deductions and liabilities apply. Press F4 for a list of valid states.

*Sometimes you'll have the same code with different states, WA & OR SAIF



PRSIC2. Enter the Insurance Code
Enter a valid insurance code for the specified state or press F4 to choose from a list of valid codes.

 

*This is based on the States L&I Insurance codes for the state see the below for reference


 

PRSIC3. Enter the description

This is best to have the description match the L&I Insurance Code description

Enter a description for this state insurance code, up to 30 characters.



PRSIC4. Subject to Weekly Earnings Limit Check Box
Do not check Subject to Weekly Earnings Limit for WA or OR

Check this box if deductions and liabilities for this insurance code are subject to a weekly wage limit.




PRSIC5. Earnings Limit

This field is enabled only if the Subject to Weekly Earnings Limit box is checked. Enter the weekly earnings limit for calculating deductions and liabilities for this insurance code.



PRSIC6. Posting Override
Posting override is mainly used for CSIP, OSIP, and Union

  1. Use Override Code when Pay Rate Exceeds Threshold Rate:
    Check this box to use an override insurance code when the employee's pay rate and add-on earnings for a timecard meet or exceed the threshold rate.

    If selected, you must enter values in the Threshold Rate and Override Insurance Code fields. Leave this box unchecked if you do not want to override the insurance code when entering timecards.

  2. Threshold Rate:
    This field is used only when the Use Override Code When Pay Rate Exceeds Threshold Rate box is checked. Enter the threshold rate for this insurance code.

    If the employee's combined pay rate and add-on earnings meet or exceed this rate, the override insurance code is used. Otherwise, the standard insurance code for the employee is applied.

  3. Override Insurance Code:
    This field is enabled only when the Override Code When Pay Rate Exceeds Threshold Rate box is checked.
    Enter the insurance code to override the default code, or press F4 to select from a list of valid codes.




Dedn/Liab Tab:


PRSIC7. DL Code
Enter any valid deductions and liabilities for this state insurance code. The type, description, and method will automatically display in the grid to the right.

DL Type Deduction or Liability:
Deduction: Employee

Liability: Employer



Method: H Rate of Hour


PRSIC8. Rate
Enter the rate or amount used to calculate the deduction or liability. Enter the rate as a decimal (e.g., 0.15 for 15%).
