When a new Job is created incorrectly, and interfaced, you may still delete it fairly easily, as long as costs have not yet been incurred.
If a new Job and Contract have been created and Interfaced from PM it may still be deleted as long as there has been no activity posted against the Job or Contract.
The following steps will tell the order in which to delete these records.
In order to delete a Job without costs from JC please follow the steps below:
1 - Go to JC Original Estimates - Delete All Estimates for the Job using the big Red 'X' or the Trashcan icon. - When 'Pop-up' is received - click 'Yes' to continue
TIP: You are able to highlight multiple records throughout the JC Module by highlighting the first record, then holding down the 'Shift' key and highlighting the last record.
NOTE: Deleting jobs/contracts from the JC module will also delete from the Project Management module.
2 - Go to JC Job Phases - Delete All Phases for the Job using the big Red 'X' or the Trashcan icon. - When 'Pop-ups are received - click 'Yes' to continue NOTE: Estimates were removed in step 1 above.
3 - Go to JC Jobs (JC Job Master in previous version) - Place cursor in the 'Job' field: Delete Job by Using the Red 'X' or the Trashcan icon. - When 'Pop-up' is received - click 'Yes' to continue
4 - Go to JC Contracts (JC Contract Master in previous versions) - On the Items tab: Delete Contract Items via the Red X or the Trashcan icon.
5. - Finally to delete the Contract itself, place cursor in the 'Contract' field: Delete Contract by Using the Red 'X' or the Trashcan icon.
NOTE: If Cost Projections have been posted to the Job, a new projection will need to be posted so that the Projected Hours, Units, and Costs net to zero.
NOTE: If you are using these steps to delete a job/contract that has a bad format, e.g. your jobs are "1000-" and this job has spaces before the " 1000-." , then try these steps:
1. Open JC Job Master and select the improperly formatted job. That places that job in your "active" focus.
2. Open JC Original Estimates and the improperly formatted job should default in. Delete the records.
3. Open JC Job Phases and the improperly formatted job should default in. Delete the records.
4. Open JC Job Master - select the improperly formatted job and delete the records.
5. Open JC Contract Master - select and delete the contract items and the the contract.
