[HR] How to create a lookup that shows last 4 digits of the Social Security Number

Creating a User-Defined Lookup for the Last 4 Digits of Social Security Numbers

  1. Navigate to User Database → Programs and open the UD User Defined Lookups form.

  2. Click File → Copy Lookup.

  3. Use HRRM as the Source Lookup, enter a UD Name and Description, and click Copy to create the new lookup.

  4. On the Details tab, create a column with the SQL statement: RIGHT(SSN, 4)
    Assign an appropriate Column Heading.

  5. Set the Input Type to 0-String and the Input Length to 4.

  6. Navigate to Human Resources → Programs → HR Resources. In the Resource # field, press F3 to open the Field Properties screen.

  7. Select the Lookups tab and add the newly created UD lookup.

  8. The new UD lookup will now be available when pressing F4 (Lookup) in the Resource # field.
