[PR] How to set up an EFT Pre-note in Payroll

This article provides instructions for creating pre-notes for both primary and additional direct deposit accounts.

Steps

  1. Primary Direct Deposit Accounts

    • Navigate to PR Employees and select the Direct Deposit tab.

    • Mark the Pre-Note checkbox to include the account in the pre-note file.

  2. Additional Direct Deposit Accounts

    • Navigate to the Additional Direct Deposits tab in PR Employees.

    • In the Status field, select P – Pre-Note.

    • When the status is set to pre-note and the pre-note checkbox on the main Direct Deposit tab is selected, the additional direct deposit account will be included in the pre-note file.

Important Notes

  • Some banks may require a Company Description for the pre-note file (Line 2, Columns 52-63).

  • During a standard EFT, this description is automatically pulled from the Download tab in PR EFT Payments.

  • For pre-notes, this field may be greyed out in Vista, requiring manual edits to the text file to populate the necessary columns.
