Silvertrek Tech Services Access - AVD

Silvertrek's preferred method of access for technical projects for Viewpoint Cloud customers is through Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). If you do not have AVD set up already, open a support ticket with Viewpoint to have them set it up for you. At the same time, also ask them to create a SQL Admins group that has db_owner access to all databases.

To create the user account:

1. Add an account in Cascade:
   1. Log into https://web.cascade.trimble.com/ 
   2. click "Add New Users" on the upper right hand side of the page.
   3. Create a "Silvertrek Systems" user.
   4. Generate a secure password
   5. Phone: (360) 667-3340
   6. Click "Add"
   7. Click "Submit Users"
2. Assign the user to groups in Cascade 
   1. Click "Groups" in the left hand navigation bar
   2. Click the "Edit Group" button by the "<code> Viewpoint Repository" group
   3. Click "Add Members"
   4. Select the Silvertrek Systems member
   5. Click "Add" at the bottom of the page
   6. Click "Save Changes"
   7. Repeat steps 2-6 for the "<code> SQL Admins" group. If you do not see this group, create a support ticket with Viewpoint to have them create the group and give it db_owner on all databases.
3. Setup this user in Vista by creating a User Profile in VA User Profile.
   1. If the Username is S.Systems.<Code>@viewpoint.cloud, the User Profile should be something like VIEWPOINT\S.Systems.<Code>. 
   2. Open VA User Profile. In the User Name box, press F4 to bring up the lookup
   3. Switch the lookup to "System Users"
   4. Find the Silvertrek user, select it and click OK
   5. Enter basic user information
   6. On the Grant tab, click "Grant all access"
   7. If you have data security set up, add the Silvertrek user to any relevant data security groups.
4. Whitelist Silvertrek's IP Address
   1. Create a support ticket with Viewpoint, requesting that they whitelist 50.173.26.222 and 104.42.57.116 for SQL access
5. Email user account information to your contact at Silvertrek Systems, or to techservices@silvertrek.net. 
   1. Username (s.systems.<code>@viewpoint.cloud)
   2. Password (Do not send passwords directly in email. Either encrypt the email or use https://onetimesecret.com/)
   3. SQL Database connection address (<code>-sql.viewpointdata.cloud,<port>)

If you are unable to use AVD, access can also be set up through a Trimble One login.
