How to Enable and Migrate Users for Single Sign-On (SSO) in Trimble Construction One (TC1)

Requirements:

  • Your organization must be using Trimble Construction One (TC1). Contact your Trimble Account Rep if you're not on TC1 yet.

  • Viewpoint SSO must be enabled for your organization by the Viewpoint Cloud Engineering team. Submit a Support case to request this.

  • Only Enterprise Admin users can migrate other users. If you're unsure who has this role, contact Customer Support.

Steps:

  1. Set Up SSO

    • Enterprise Admin users can assign roles and migrate users in the TC1/Team portal.

    • If you received an invite to set up an account, follow the instructions.

  2. User Invitations

    • Enterprise Admins can use the migration tool in the Trimble Construction One work center to send invitations to Vista users.

    • Users must accept the email invite, enter their name, and set a password to complete the process.

  3. Log In with Viewpoint ID

    • Once migrated, users can log into Vista using their Viewpoint ID (or Trimble ID).

    • Click Log In with Viewpoint ID or, starting with v2023 R1, Sign In with Trimble ID.

  4. Note for Vista SSO Accounts (v2023 R1 and later)

    • Vista SSO accounts cannot log into third-party apps (e.g., SSRS, Excel).

    • For this, you'll need to create a dedicated SQL account with access to any necessary data.
